What Little Red Riding Hood Always Wanted to Know About Sex
In this theater adaptation a chuckling Little Red Riding Hood embarks on an erotic excursion through her renowned fairytale. On the flower field the Wolf actually planned to stray her from the right path, but instead it is her who seduces him to make love—and it’s a lot of fun, obviously! And then Little Red Riding Hood grabs everything she can get. The Wolf quickly has to go pick some flowers; the Hunter is ravished in Grandmother’s bed—and in the end Little Red Riding Hood is spoilt for choice: Wolf or Hunter, Hunter or Wolf, or better both? A tongue-in-cheek theater piece about trying things out and falling in love, a call for courage, and a bit of immorality: Once the Wolf has lost his allure, someone else has to do the job… With finger puppets, ornately designed marionettes, and her own person, Cordula Nossek really outdoes herself. The stage, a bed turned upright, transforms into a magic forest, a meadow for lovebirds, a cuddle sofa, or an arbor.
The versatile stage and figure designer and installation artist Joachim Hamster Damm, who today works in major art projects, constructed the adaptable stage, the small and big figures and marionettes for this piece: “BEWARE! Fairytale,” or better put: “BEWARE of Little Red Riding Hood!”
