Fredo, the Giant Bird
Fredo is a bird. And a pretty big one at that. But his helpfulness is even bigger: he’s a wonderful climbing frame for children, he doesn’t do badly as a crane on the construction site, and he also lends a hand to the chimney sweepers.
Fredo, the Giant Bird is a story full of symbolism that tells about generosity and selfishness, but above all, about the joy of mutual help.
The piece is based on the eponymous wordless picture book by Andreja Peklar. For the book, she received numerous Slovenian and international awards, and in 2018 was also selected for the IBBY Honor List for outstanding children’s and youth literature.
