I Had a Dog and a Cat
The dog Bow-Wow and the cat Meow live peacefully together. But what if you get the idea one day of wanting to do everything the way humans do, and instead of hands you only have four little paws – then a whole new story begins. How do you clean the floor? With your fur, perhaps? Or how do you do the laundry? And how do you hang them up to dry? And how do you celebrate a birthday?
In a humorous stage version, the students of BAfEP Mistelbach tell a few funny episodes from the children’s book Povidáni o pejskovi a kočičce (I Had a Dog and a Cat), which is extremely popular in the Czech Republic. Josef Čapek tackled the idea of how children experience the world in simple and very fitting language, leaving behind no less than a piece of world literature. The author and illustrator died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945.
