Hamlet – A Revenge Drama with Puppets

The tragedy of to be or not to be. A young man finds himself between the grindstones of power interests. A complete family annihilates one another. In the middle is Prince Hamlet: He tries to break through the system of betrayal, intrigue, and suspicion, but he, too, ends up in the mills of murder. But this time everything shall happen differently: Hamlet must survive!
Can’t the path of destiny be changed by a coincidence or a small intervention? The intense psychodrama is condensed down to its fundamental conflicts in the style of a chamber play, always anxious that it might free the piece of world literature from any pathos. A collage about memory, madness, truth, and about the many possibilities in life, at whose inevitable end waits death.

“How the two performers juggle between five or six different story and reality layers, how they act together, against one another, and crosswise each other, while their puppets seem to take on a life of their own – always in the balance between charade and seriousness – it’s breath-taking.” Berliner Zeitung, 2017
