The Big Coup – A Comedy Thriller

Nothing for the faint of heart cause things go crazy in this mafia thriller. In quickly cut sequences with rapid place and perspective changes, Samuel Kübler and Stefan Wiemers perform highly concentrated break and entry scenes, tragicomical road movie sequences, and last second rescue actions. The story is derived from the building blocks of Hollywood mafia thrillers. For example, there’s “The Brain” who cleverly plans a big diamond robbery. On the other side is Chief Inspector Pachulke whose life’s task is to arrest The Brain. All the clichés and characters are performed in the best pantomimic, narrative, scenic, and comic strip manner – a pure delight! The stage set and props consist of gray blocks of different sizes, which are constantly being moved around, climbed and crawled upon in stuntman style, but also have to serve as a rearview mirror sometimes. A comical theater piece that walks the line between radical reduction and playful exaggeration, spiced up with all kinds of slapstick elements and a very effective soundtrack.

“You don’t know what to be happier about, the well-done slapstick or the wit that the story is told with. Pure entertainment…” Annette Hoffmann, Kulturjoker

“Exquisite cerebral cinema – you don’t often see that on stage…” Marion Klötzer, Badische Zeitung
